How to Participate
The CalNEXT team will evaluate public submissions once a quarter. If the Project submission is a good fit for the program, you could be paired with a program partner to help you prepare the submission for evaluation. In the following month, complete submissions will be evaluated. All Projects will be evaluated against the same review criteria. Then approximately 6-8 weeks after the submission deadline, the CalNEXT team will let you know if your Project has been selected.
At this time, all of the 2024 budget for public lead projects has been allocated. The next submission deadline is January 23, 2025. Any submissions received will be addressed in the Q1 2025 submission round. This will be followed by the Q2 2025 submission deadline of April 25, 2025.
The CalNEXT team is accountable for implementing Projects. If a submitted Project is approved, the submitter will be paired with one of the program partner organizations for support. This support may range from general Program support to direct implementation support.
